I’ve had some fun this summer, working on new pieces for my Talisman Studios shop on Etsy.
I made my first bangle bracelet. This is something I’ve been wanting to try for a long time, and I needed to bite the bullet with Sterling Silver Prices higher than I was comfortable with and buy the material needed. Also, I needed to purchase a round bracelet mandrel, so I could work harden the bracelet once I began. I had an oval bracelet mandrel, but that is for cuffs. I wanted a bangle as my first bracelet.

I like the simplicity in this design. It’s a triangle shaped wire, with little V notches filed in. I then filed from the V to the inside of the bracelet with a slim line. Just small details, but they do make a difference! You can find this bangle bracelet here in my shop.
I have also finally started to make bezel set earrings. For the longest time I resisted making cabochons for earring sets. One thing is that when I look at the slab of stone I’m working with, my eye immediately sees compositions in the material. And they’re usually the larger shapes suitable for pendants.
It was only because I have a wholesale client begging me for earring sets that I finally cut some pairs. At first it was painful! The cabochons are so tiny! But now that I’ve taken the pain to try it, and had the fun of seeing my own cabochons made as earrings, I know cutting them will become part of my routine.

Here are two pairs of earrings I just made. The top picture shows dainty Willow Creek Jasper Arabaesque Teardrops. They have my signature stamping motif, and the wires are attached right to the backplate instead of being jointed like most earrings.
The second set are wonderful Petrified Wood Marquise shaped cabochons. They are a bit big, so the wearer needs to be comfortable with a bit of heft in their earrings. These earrings can be seen here in my shop.
Speaking of Petrified Wood, I am just thrilled with this pendant, and I think you can see why. It’s just such an unusual stone, and the way I shaped the backing plate gives it the little bit extra that says “handcrafted.” Find it here.

There are certainly many more new pieces available, I don’t have the patience to post every new thing I’m offering. I hope you’ll support my small business by browsing my shop, TalismanStudios.Etsy.com
I’ll finish this post with one more available pendant. This Sonoran Dendritic Rhyolite piece just turned out so nicely, I think.
